Special Notice:

January 05, 2021: Happy New Year to everyone! We hope you all had a safe and happy holiday season. Maier, LLC is working on some program improvements this year to make everything easier for you, our customers. We look forward to implementing the changes in the near future. Also, check out the 2021 schedules on our Teen Driver Ed page.  Classes are filling up quickly! We are working diligently to serve the large backlog of customers and we truly appreciate all your patience and understanding during this time. We are still under restrictions by the State regarding class size limitations, which only allows us to run our classes at about half capacity.  Please understand that some classes will have to be run virtually if schools are unable to allow us to use their facilities.

WELCOME!

Maier Driver Education School, LLC is nationally accredited through the ADTSEA & Motorcycle Safety Foundation, we're a member of the Michigan Driver & Safety Education Association, our instructors are state licensed, and our training vehicles are fully insured. We are a state provider for motorcycle and commercial driver education as well as teen and adult driver education.
We focus on a learner centered curriculum; students' individual learning capabilities, parent education and participation, and safety awareness and social responsibility. We offer flexible scheduling options and engaging activities to provide our students with a rewarding educational experience.

Motorcycle Safety Courses

Maier LLC provides two types of motorcycle instruction at our Bad Axe and North Branch training ranges.
  • Basic Rider Course:  This class (also known as BRC) is for students with little or no experience with motorcycles.  Students learn the physical and mental skills important for operating a motorcycle.  In the classroom riders will learn ways to minimize risk and handle special riding situations.  During the riding portion of the BRC, students will be coached to develop the physical skills of basic control that include:  clutch/throttle control, straight line riding, stopping, turning and shifting, and then move on to more advanced skills such as stopping quickly, cornering, and swerving.
  • Returning Rider BRC:  This class is designed for motorcycle riders who need “brushing up” on their basic skills as well as learn advanced riding techniques.
All classroom and range training is based upon the curriculum and course structure developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF).
